Frequently Asked Questions
-
Mane Event is a great fit if you value:
Calm, respectful animal interaction
Safety and supervision
Education woven into the experience
Quality over quantity
If you’re looking for a fast-paced or high-volume pony ride service, we may not be the best match — and we’re happy to help you explore other options.
-
Our pricing reflects the level of care involved. We limit group sizes, enforce rest periods for animals, provide professional supervision, and incorporate education into every experience. This allows us to create a safer, calmer environment for children and ensures the long-term well-being of our animals.
-
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weekends and seasonal events. We limit the number of events we take to maintain quality.
-
A signed liability waiver and deposit are required to confirm your booking. Full details will be provided during the booking process.
-
We don’t run promotional discounts or bundle deals. Instead, we prioritize long-term relationships and often extend courtesy upgrades or special considerations to returning families when possible.
This allows us to keep pricing fair and consistent for everyone.
-
Because our experiences involve live animals, travel, and limited availability, a non-refundable reservation fee is required to secure your date.
If an event is cancelled within 7 days of the scheduled date, the reservation fee is non-refundable.
Cancellations made more than 7 days in advance may be rescheduled once, subject to availability.
If weather, ground conditions, safety concerns, or animal welfare require changes, Mane Event may modify, shorten, or cancel an experience. Rescheduling will be prioritized whenever possible.
If an experience must be stopped or adjusted on-site due to unsafe conditions or unmet requirements, refunds are not provided.
Our priority is always safety, animal welfare, and providing the best possible experience.
-
Our experiences are designed for individuals and groups of all ages. While many of our events include children, we also work with teens, adults, families, photographers, schools, and community groups.
Each experience is adapted to the comfort level, age, and goals of the participants.
-
Yes! Mane Event is for participants of all ages. Adults are welcome to interact, learn, and join in the experience at any time. Whether it’s a family outing, a teen session, or a multi-generation group, we adapt to everyone’s comfort and interests.
-
Not at all. Most of our clients are first-time horse visitors. We guide every interaction and explain what to expect so participants feel comfortable and confident.
-
Most experiences range from 45–60 minutes. Longer sessions may be available depending on the event type, animal workload, and schedule.
-
Because animal welfare matters. Limiting bookings ensures each experience is unhurried, safe, and enjoyable. Not rushed or stressful.
-
Structured rides protect both children and ponies. Short, supervised rides with rest breaks help keep animals calm and comfortable, which results in a better experience for everyone involved.
-
If an animal shows signs of stress or fatigue, we pause or redirect the activity. This may include shifting to educational interaction, grooming, or observation rather than riding.
-
Animals may only be fed or given treats provided by us if supervised and directed by a Mane Event handler. This ensures safety and protects the animals’ health.
-
Safety is central to everything we do. Each experience includes:
A safety overview
Professional supervision at all times
Structured interaction zones
Clear rules for approaching and interacting with animals
We reserve the right to modify or stop activities if safety standards are not met.
-
Helmets are required for riding experiences when applicable and are strongly encouraged for younger participants. We will discuss this prior to your event.
-
We can provide helmets for riding activities when age-appropriate and if available. Riders are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes, and parents are welcome to bring their own helmets if preferred.
-
Yes. Many children who are hesitant around animals thrive in our calm, pressure-free environment. Participation is always voluntary, and observing from a distance is perfectly acceptable.
-
Safety always comes first. If ground conditions, weather, or space are unsuitable, services may be modified or stopped. This protects your children, our staff, and our animals.
-
Yes. We are a mobile service and travel to private residences, farms, schools, and event venues, provided the space meets safety requirements.
-
We require:
Level, firm ground (grass or packed soil preferred)
A clearly defined interaction area
Safe access for our truck and trailer
We review site details in advance to ensure suitability.
-
If conditions are unsafe due to ground, weather, or access, we may modify or cancel services. Safety and animal welfare must come first.
-
Additional staff allows us to maintain proper supervision, manage safety zones, and support animal care. It’s a proactive measure that improves the quality of the experience rather than reacting after a problem occurs.
-
We are happy to consider requests based on availability, size requirements, and experience suitability. However, we assign animals based on welfare, temperament, and the nature of the event. Requests do not guarantee specific animals.
